The resulting app, TBS Social Dugout, was the first second screen app to directly integrate with a first screen broadcast, displaying elements from the app directly within the TBS on-screen graphics. Social Dugout delivered a win not only for Turner, but for the app’s sponsor, Samsung.

    By sponsoring the app and giving away Galaxy S3’s to Social Dugout users, Samsung was the only brand to be featured both during the commercial breaks and the live baseball portions of TBS’ broadcast of the MLB Playoffs.
